Salary £30,000 - £35,000 per annum - Full Time
The Opportunity
A vacancy has arisen for a Centre Manager for our Kidlington site.
Reporting to the Area Manager, the successful candidate will be required to take responsibility for the effective management and operation of the site which includes a 25m main pool, sports hall, squash courts, healthsuite and a 70+ station fitness facilities with two Studios.
Kidlington Leisure Centre is part of the Cherwell Contract is located in Oxfordshire and comprises 3 thriving leisure centre's - Spiceball Leisure Centre, Bicester Leisure Centre and Kidlington Leisure Centre. With a growing gym membership base and swimming lesson programme the centre currently attracts in excess of 300,000 visits per annum.
The Centre Manager position is a key position in the Company. Carrying out continuous customer and staff relations services, the position provides the postholder with a genuinely rewarding experience and provides a springboard to a leisure management career in one of the most attractive and fast growing leisure management companies.
Primary objectives for the Centre Manager will be:
There will be an emphasis on improving service delivery standards.
Continue to build the membership base and increase profitability.
Enhancing both the financial performance and usage of the facilities within the contract specification.
The Person
The successful candidate will ideally have a recognised qualification in Leisure Management and have extensive knowledge of the safe operation of swimming pools and of the leisure industry in general.
Health and Safety and Pool Plant Operation and an NPLQ qualification would be advantageous.
You should be able to manage and develop large staff teams efficiently to meet the operational requirements of the Contract.
Candidates must have an understanding of financial procedures and be able to manage budgets effectively.
Flexibility and commitment to customer service are essential as this role will involve some evening and weekend working.
Ability to communicate with and develop the relationship with the client
Strong verbal and written communication
