Internal Sales Representative / Account Manager

The Recruitment Co are recruiting for an Internal Sales Executive for our client based in Middleton, who are the largest distributor of plastic in the UK.

Job Purpose Statement:

To maintain and expand sales and profit from an assigned sales sectors; identify and develop key and target accounts and assist colleagues to achieve the same from their areas of responsibility

Job Accountabilities:

To maintain a proactive call out programme to accounts within their territory and record the outcome of these calls on the telemarketing system.

To decide with the PCM and External Sales Representative key and target accounts for the sales sector and agree methods to obtain the business and reporting procedures to monitor the level of business at these accounts

In conjunction with the ESR and PCM to manage their sales territory so as to achieve budgeted sales and profit.

To develop contacts and relationships with customers that ensure we are first choice when placing orders, first refusal in any competitive situation and to be familiar with customer's regular requirements. Understand our customers' service and material requirements.

Develop and agree methods to obtain additional new business. Proactively seek out new opportunities and follow up initial sales leads.

To develop contacts and relationships with customers that ensure we are first choice when placing orders. Log outcomes of calls and update customer data. Utilise CRM system to categorise customers for business reporting.

To promptly contact all leads supplied and report the response to these calls to the ESR/PCM.

To hold monthly meetings with the ESR to discuss your accounts activity.

To understand the properties and applications of the Company's product range.

To be aware of competitive activity and to report changes in the marketplace.

To maintain a daybook and other procedures in accordance with the Company's Standard Practice Instructions (SPI's).

To assist the Inventory Controller/PCM in ensuring accurate stocks are maintained to service customer requirements.

To understand the Company administrative procedures, including credit control and the requirements of SPI's.

To assist the Profit Centre Administrator in settling any customer claims for credit in a prompt and efficient manner.

To understand the role of Credit Control and all other departments of the Company and promote good communications with all of them.

Maintain regular contact with all your personal key and target accounts as agreed in your Sales Plan and increase the customer base and profitability of the Profit Centre.

Work with the ESR/PCM and Internal Sales Executives to increase sales and profit to existing and potential accounts in your designated sectors. Then to review, with the ESR/PCM the results of these efforts.

Assist in the total effort of the Profit Centre in meeting and exceeding its budgeted sales and profit targets and in the smooth and efficient working of all areas and other personnel of the Profit Centre.

To carry out other reasonable tasks which may be required.

Working Hours & Holidays:

Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm OR 9am-5:30pm
1 hour unpaid lunch
25 days hol plus 3 days for Christmas plus Bank Holidays = 35 days
