Role Overview

The Site Manager will work on a project supported by the project leadership and will share the responsibility for the successful delivery of any given project to the client’s satisfaction and in accordance with Sewell policies, procedures, and cultural approach, known as 'Construction Excellence'.
The Site Manager will be capable and have experience of working on a site with Contract Management support, as well as part of a larger delivery team.

Key Responsibilities
 •  Deliver as a single team, working hand in hand with our internal team, subcontractors and design team, and client.
 •  Embrace and convey the pace and energy of the project to the delivery team.
 •  Share responsibility with the project team for communicating expectations, providing constructive feedback and performance management of the supply chain.
 •  Support the project team to maintain two way, honest and open communication with our customers and end users.
 •  Share responsibility with the project team for maintaining project presentation, ensuring that site boundaries, roads, welfare and office areas are clean and tidy.
 •  Hold responsibility for the safety of the delivery team, embracing the company’s H&S Policy and Procedures along with a pro-active attitude in approaching matters concerning the health, safety and wellbeing of anyone affected by the work.
 •  Review Method Statements and Risk assessments.
 •  Monitor construction works (including sub-contractors) for compliance against control measures identified in risk assessment and undertake field weekly site inspections.
 •  Work with the team to ensure financial performance and mitigate the impact of any loss of money through waste time, materials or substandard installations which require re-work.
 •  Ensure the design takes into account whether the scheme is buildable, fully coordinated to allow a 'right first time' approach and is compliant with all relevant legislation and guidance in force at that time.
 •  Support the project team through expectation management of the supply chain to ensure the project is delivered to our expected quality standard.
 •  Ensure that we consider the effects that our operations may have on the local community, prevent pollution, reduce waste and wherever practicable, protect and preserve natural habitats, flora/fauna.

Requirements

Essential:

 •  Hold a full driving licence, valid in the UK.
 •  Qualified to NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent) or above and hold a valid 5-day CITB SMSTS Certificate
 •  A valid First Aid Certificate
 •  A proven track record in controlling and construction projects including the management and coordination of subcontractors
 •  Experience in leadership and be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities
 •  Previous experience working with programming and web-based document storage software
 •  A positive and professional attitude.
 •  Ability to work using own initiative but also as part of a close-knit team.
 •  Excellent levels of computer literacy, and be fluent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
 •  Have a proactive attitude towards delivering construction works to a world-class standard.
 •  Hold excellent communications skills and the ability to liaise with senior clients & subcontractors.
 •  Possess good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks.
 •  Possess a positive approach to learning, development, and progression.
 •  Have a flexible outlook towards hours worked (some out of hours working may be required).
 •  Have working knowledge of current Health and Safety practice.

Desirable:

 •  Previous knowledge in the non-domestic sector working with public and private clients
 •  Previous experience and/or training on BIM (Building Information Modelling)
