Overview:

It’s a great time to join Screwfix. Thanks to the hard work of our team and record-breaking sales, we’re proud to be one of the fastest-growing retailers in the UK.

Reporting to the HR Director, you'll lead a specialist Reward and Benefits team to develop and deliver our Reward and Benefits proposition. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing reward policies in partnership with the business, enabling us to continue growing our capabilities by attracting and retaining talent.
You'll oversee the day-to-day management of all aspects of employee reward and benefits in Screwfix, ensuring our reward processes run like clockwork. Through this role, you'll also represent Screwfix in the wider Kingfisher Reward community, ensuring group-led Reward initiatives work for Screwfix.

We believe that a hybrid, flexible working approach offers you – and your colleagues – the best of both worlds. Face-to-face collaboration is an integral part of our warm, friendly culture, so you’ll work from our head office three days a week, working flexibly around our core working hours of 10am-3pm.
Beyond that, how, when and where you work is up to you. With a subsidised canteen, free parking and a comfortable, relaxed environment, we’ve worked hard to build an office you’ll want to work in. We also know that, when it comes to school pick-ups and home deliveries, it’s nice to have the flexibility to do both.

Responsibilities:

 •  Develop a well thought through Reward and Benefits strategy that is aligned to the Kingfisher priorities and the Screwfix 3-year plan; ensuring that it supports the attraction and retention of the best talent across Stores, Head Office and Customer Service Centre roles.
 •  Research and develop approaches to reward that will contribute to the achievement of our strategy, responding to changing market conditions.
 •  Lead the delivery of Screwfix annual reward cycle of activity including the pay review, benchmarking and bonus, providing recommendations and guidance throughout.
 •  Lead the development and improvement for remuneration related processes, ensuring transparency, consistency, and governance control.
 •  Responsible for the overall Reward budget, plus act as a key influencing stakeholder in how the Screwfix pay award and bonus budget is spent.
 •  Manage our third-party benefit providers (e.g. company car fleet, private medical insurance), ensuring we get the best value for money, and supporting your team to take steps to deliver the best service.
 •  Play a part in the wider HR strategy creation as part of the senior leadership team – with an important view outside of your area of technical expertise.
 •  Represent Screwfix in the Group Reward network & contribute to Group Reward projects.
 •  Lead, coach and inspire the Reward team to build strong reward and benefit capability and high-performance.

Qualifications:

 •  Experience and understanding of reward and benefits principles, including pay structures, bonus/incentive plans, car fleet, pensions, and healthcare benefits.
 •  Demonstrable experience in pay benchmarking and job levelling.
 •  Previous retail experience would be good but not mandatory.
 •  You'll need robust data analysis and problem-solving skills to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
 •  Ability to effortlessly convey findings and proposals to anyone in the business.
 •  Experience in leading and managing teams responsible for reward and benefits administration.

What’s in it for me?
 •  Award-Winning Pension Scheme
 •  20% Discounts at Screwfix & B&Q, plus discounts at other High-Street Retailers
 •  Company Bonus
 •  Company Car
 •  Award-Winning Apprenticeship Schemes
