I am excited to partner with a growing provider of marine services within the Offshore sector. Due to continued expansion, they now have an immediate requirement for a Marine Engineer to join their team in the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer who would be interested in working a rotational shift of 2 weeks on and 1 week off.
Although not essential, this position would be ideally suited to an ex Royal Navy or Merchant Navy engineer. Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be flexible to stay away from home on their working rotation of two weeks. There is flexibility in the location of the candidate but will be based on the east coast in or around the following areas: Buckie, Newcastle, Scarborough, Hornsea, Grimsby, Skegness, Lowestoft, Clacton-on-Sea, Ramsgate.
This is an exciting time to join the company as they experience a period of significant growth. The successful Marine Engineer will receive comprehensive manufacturer training alongside a clear progression pathway with some fantastic benefits.
Marine Engineer Responsibilities:
• Carry out general vessel maintenance, inspection and repairs of engines and gearboxes.
• Fault-finding and repairs of vessel electrical, hydraulic and heating systems.
• Work closely with the crews to understand their problems and train them to service/ check their vessel.
• Travel and work away from home at multiple sites around the UK.
• Take a flexible approach to working hours and to work in accordance with operational requirements (including in the event of breakdowns/emergency repairs).
Marine Engineer Requirements:
• Hold an engineering qualification to level 3 or equivalent.
• Engineering experience within the marine, HGV or agricultural sector will suit this position.
• Proven experience of working with engines and gearboxes.
• Electrical and hydraulic knowledge.
• Experience of working with planned maintenance systems.
• Flexible approach to working a rotational pattern and staying away from home on shift.
• Hold full UK driving licence.
Marine Engineer Benefits:
• Negotiable salary.
• Rotational working pattern – 2 weeks on/1 week off.
• Overtime payable.
• Use of company vehicle, mobile phone, laptop.
• Accommodation and meals expensed when working away from home.
• 7 days additional holiday rising with service to a maximum of 14 days.
