We are seeking a Specialist Application Engineer to help develop and deliver our strategic goals by providing bespoke integrated solutions for our target applications. p>

In this role, you will be responsible to support our customers and regional sales teams, facilitating the development of new business, the subsequent introduction of new products and to continuously develop our understanding of the applications and markets in which we operate.
Whilst also, supporting other areas of the business with requests of a technical nature, related to the application. p>

Key Responsibilities: strong> p>
 •  Inspection and completion of the requirements specification in cooperation with the customer (Data collection form or other) li>
 •  Provide initial export classification for products in accordance with the UK export regulations ensuring compliance with subsequent communications and licensing where applicable. li>
 •  Carrying out/ initiating calculation as part of application engineering using Mesys, initial bearing design, and consider product development needs. li>
 •  Definition of the specifications for the product design li>
 •  Coordination of the creation and approval of the design specification in cooperation with the design department and manufacturing department li>
 •  Approval of the customer delivery drawing EDD and / or bearing specifications li>
 •  6 Eye approval of data sheets considering the initial customer requirements specification. li>
 •  Initiation of the quotation process (Special Enquiry) in cooperation with Sales e.g. li>
 •  Consultation and assistance in the event of complaints/ cases of damage/ returns analyses and initiation of optimization measures li>
 •  Decisions regarding internal requests for change and initiation of external requests for change to the product li>
 •  Assistance in evaluating deviations in production parts (e.g. MRB, Concessions) li>
 •  Initiation of innovative further developments in bearings and systems with bearing supports based on identified market opportunities and customer requirements. li>
 •  Assistance in the generation of catalogs and technical publications for sector-specific products in conjunction with the relevant areas li>
 •  Giving presentations and participation in specialized seminars and symposia li>
 •  Frequent Domestic and International travel to customers, trade exhibitions and other HQW sites li> ul>

Person Specification: strong> p>
Technical degree or comparable training: p>
 •  A Masters/ Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject accredited by the governing body, ie IMechE li>
 •  Detailed and practical knowledge of 2D/ 3D CAD methods, international standards for technical drawing creation li>
 •  Fluent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) li>
 •  Working knowledge of FMEA li>
 •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills li>
 •  Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment li> ul>

The following are desirable but not essential characteristics: p>
 •  Experience of manufacturing processes and technologies relevant to our or similar products li>
 •  Experience in the functional and operational characteristics of rotating machinery from an application perspective li>
 •  Qualified 6 Sigma Green Belt li>
 •  Working knowledge of Solidworks, Project management tools li>
 •  Fluency in written and spoken languages, in particular (but not limited to) French and German li> ul>
