Commercial Manager

Vision Personnel are delighted to be working with a leading Contractor to identify a Commercial Manager. You will need to have experience in Groundworks / Civils / Earthworks or Demo.

You will aim to provide competent and professional commercial support and management, and to reduce the risk profile and maximise the financial effectiveness and profitability of the Contracting Division through diligent application of agreed contractual, and commercial practices and policies, with the careful commercial management from tender stage through to final completion and post contract activities.

Your duties will include all elements of quantity surveying and commercial management involved with the whole project lifecycle – feasibility, estimating, procurement and post-contract delivery; more specifically but not limited to the following:

 •  Understand, produce, and evaluate tender packages.
 •  Measure, prepare and agree the valuation process from interim to final accounts and retention release as applicable.
 •  Drive value, maximise margins and manage costs.
 •  Prepare, review and agree monthly progress reports and CVRs.
 •  Change management – identifying and capitalising on variations.
 •  Contract negotiation and administration – all forms of Contract including ICC, FIDIC, NEC and JCT.
 •  Support, advise and develop the commercial team and site teams on all commercial matters.
 •  Provide leadership for the commercial team to maximise the potential of the team in line with company standards and values.
 •  Ensure all commercial activities are carried out in compliance with procedures and external legislation governing business operations
 •  Review, agree implement and improve processes as required.
 •  Sub-contractor and supplier procurement and management.
 •  Monitor and manage client payments in-line with Agreement and in conjunction with the credit control/ accounts team.
 •  Report to and provide support to the Commercial Director and senior operational leads of the Contracting Divisions
 •  Act professionally and with integrity always, promoting the best interests of the business and our clients.
