Reporting to Senior Operations Manager/ Project Manager, the role will involve the undertaking of electrical testing and minor electrical works on various MoD sites across Scotland. The works generally entail maintenance, construction and refurbishment works to current MoD sites.

The primary role of this electrician will be ensuring that the projects are carried out fully compliant to all relevant Health & Safety legislation and contract conditions. The most critical conditions being that all work is completed to a high standard, in a safe working manner, within programme and to the satisfaction of our client.

Primarily working with our valued ‘Defence Industry’ Client you will be responsible for carrying out various electrical tasks. This will include (but not exhaustive)
 •  Electrical testing & minor electrical installation works.
 •  Ensure all work is completed within the specified timescales.
 •  Enforcing and monitoring Health & Safety practices and CDM Regulations on site.
 •  Be an ambassador for the organisation whilst undertaking works on site.
 •  Assist with Sub-Contractor management and monitoring.
 •  Report any issues or concerns to your manager in respect to the project or task you are working on to ensure there are no delays in completion so as not to encounter any contract penalty clauses.
 •  Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the client’s requirements/specifications.
 •  Knowledge/understanding of the contract design and construction drawings.
 •  Attendance of regular site meetings with client, Managers and Director.
 •  Ensure that all specific materials ordered are received on or before their due delivery dates.
 •  Identify and implement improvements to any aspect of the service that we provide.
 •  Use of our computer systems and other software packages.
 •  This will also involve daily travel and possible working away from time to time as deemed necessary for the needs of the business.
 •  Be prepared to work overtime where required to support the contract.
 •  This is a summary of the main areas of the job and will be subject to periodic review in conjunction with the post holder in conjunction with your Line Manager
 •  A certificate in BS7671 - The Requirements For Electrical Installations 18th Edition
 •  C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent qualifications
 •  A minimum of two years experience working in a role as an electrician, preferably within a military or commercial environment
 •  Ability to use IT systems.
 •  Knowledge in Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
 •  Self-motivated and proactive.
 •  Positive attitude and the ability to integrate and be an active part in the team.
 •  Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
 •  You must hold a full current UK driving licence
