Teaching Personnel are working alongside a large and thriving ASD (Autism Base) in The Vale of Glamorgan to recruit new Teaching Assistants for their 2024/2025 academic year.
Several Teaching Assistant positions are opening due to a large new intake of pupils for the next academic year. The base supports learners aged 11 - 18 with Autism and ADHD; providing 1-2-1 teaching, intervention and adaptive lessons delivered by a team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
The provision also benefits from a wide range of additional facilities and extra-curricular activities including a garden, kitchen and baking area, dedicated sports and games sessions, arts, and crafts and even a resident therapy dog!
Pupils within this setting receive tailored support with a child-led approach. Staff encourage pupils to achieve their goals and succeed, whatever these goals may look like for them.
The ideal candidate will be kind, patient, openminded and have a passion for working with young people with Autism and Additional Needs. No formal TA qualifications are needed, but the ability to demonstrate an understanding of these needs, and how you would support students to achieve their goals, is essential.
Benefits:
• Pay from £420/week.
• Ongoing training and development opportunities within the role, including Autism Awareness & Team Teach training.
• Holiday Pay Scheme + Referral Bonuses of up to £250
• 1 yr. initial contract, with the opportunity to take on a permanent contract upon completion of this period.
Required:
• Enhanced Child Only DBS (with Update Service)
• Registration with the EWC as a Learning Support Worker
• 2 x professional references
