The successful candidate will be expected to perform all related Healthcare Assistant duties, including, but not exhaustive: New patient health checks ECG recording BP recording Phlebotomy Basic wound care Administer Flu Vaccinations and other medications with appropriate training and under a Patient Specific Direction (PSD) Chaperoning duties Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/ANPs/ACPs/Nurses Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations and/or womens health clinics Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being Assisting in the provision of care for long term conditions as required (and with appropriate training and guidance) Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being To maintain accurate records at all times Attend and participate in any practice meetings when required Contribute to maintaining safe systems of work and a safe environment Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post Have the ability to use own judgment and resourcefulness A commitment to maintain a high professional standard and keep up to date with all aspects of care relevant to the post, taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance A commitment to ensure all Health and Safety requirements and Infection Control measures are met and to report any problems to the practice manager A commitment to the effective use of practice and NHS resources An awareness of own limitations and experience To work at all times within the scope of professional practice and to follow practice policies, standards and guidance Communicate effectively with other team members Communicate effectively with patients and carers Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.
