Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join our dedicated team supporting schools in the Oldham area. As a Geography Teacher, you will inspire curiosity about the world, foster critical thinking skills, and deepen students' understanding of geographical concepts and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and informative Geography lessons, covering topics such as physical geography, human geography, and environmental sustainability.
Utilise a range of teaching strategies and resources, including maps, GIS technology, multimedia, and fieldwork opportunities, to bring geography to life and engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
Foster an appreciation for global issues and interconnections, encouraging students to explore the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of geographical phenomena.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students, providing additional support and extension opportunities as necessary to ensure all learners reach their full potential.
Organise and supervise fieldwork experiences, excursions, and geographical investigations, helping students develop practical skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Assess student progress through a combination of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development and achievement in Geography.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and ideas for enhancing the teaching and learning of Geography across the school.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, specialising in Geography or related field.
Relevant degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
Experience teaching Geography at the secondary level is preferred.
Strong subject knowledge and passion for geography education.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting curiosity, empathy, and global awareness.
Willingness to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
