A Provider of high-accuracy machined components and gear technology solutions to the aerospace and defence industry are expanding and looking for a Setter Operator to join the team.
Job Profile
This position entails the operation and setup of various machinery, including CNC and Mazak systems, to prepare materials and tooling for upcoming tasks. Utilizing engineering blueprints, the role focuses on fabricating precise components for clients within the aerospace and automotive sectors.
Duties:
• Operate and configure CNC Turning and Milling machines.
• Efficiently transition machine settings between different tasks within designated timeframes.
• Proficiency in interpreting and comprehending programming instructions.
• Utilize micrometers, verniers, and other inspection tools to verify work accuracy against blueprint specifications.
• Ensure production meets desired quantities and standards through in-process inspections.
• Address technical inquiries when necessary.
• Provide support to colleagues as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
• Adhere to quality protocols and company processes.
• Maintain punctuality.
• Promptly report any issues to Unit Manager or Supervisor.
• Comply with company health and safety regulations and complete requisite training.
Skills & Attributes:
• Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years' experience in a comparable industry or role.
• Proficiency in using various measuring equipment.
• Strong mathematical and technical aptitude.
• Experience in systematic problem-solving.
• Proactive team player.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and learn.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
Hours of Work: 40 hours/week
Mon – Thurs: 07:00 – 15:45
Fri: 06:00 – 13:00
Benefits:
• Discretionary bonus, subject to the terms of the scheme.
