Are you able to spare a few hours a week to help support our individual’s access local activities and appointments?
We are looking for volunteer drivers to help us, ideally on a regular basis, to collect some of the people we support from a day centre they attend in Petersfield and drive them back to their home in Alton.
This service is essential for the people we support to attend social activities, access the local community and attend day trips out and so you will have an opportunity to be a part of a person-centred organisation that is both rewarding and enjoyable.
Hours of support required:
Monday to Friday.
They would require being picked up at 3pm from Petersfield.
However we can be flexible to suit any volunteer’s availability and explore other opportunities where you may be able to volunteer with us.
About us:
Autism Hampshire, part of Avenues Group, are a care organisation which supports young adults and adults with learning disabilities and autism through a mixture of 1:1 and shared support at home and in the community, to enable them to live as independently as possible.

What skills and expertise will you need?
• Hold a full clean UK driving licence
• Willing to use your own vehicle and have business insurance
• Able to communicate with a variety of people
• Be reliable, punctual and able to manage own time
• Be willing to undertake any mandatory training
• Local to the areas of one or more of the following: Alton, Petersfield, Liphook, Liss etc.
Due to the range of people you may encounter, you are required to complete a mandatory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check as well as reference checks. We operate both enhanced Adult and Children checks for this role in line with our compliance.
