Outpatient Pharmacist
Southampton | www.cv-library.co.uk |
The outpatient pharmacy department at a leading Southampton hospital is now looking for a Pharmacist to join their team and take part in a growing, thriving service.
Serving one of the largest patient populations in the UK, the pharmacy plays a crucial part in outpatient care and supports patients with diverse healthcare needs across every clinical area – whether they are a recent attendee of A&E, a discharged inpatient continuing treatment at home, or need specialist support to manage a chronic and progressive condition.
As an Outpatient Pharmacist, you can expect to be working closely with prescribers, clinicians, and other partners to deliver optimised, patient-centred care, including through the screening of prescriptions, provision of counselling and advice regarding dosages, side effects and interactions, and supporting the development of both the team and scope of services.
The outpatient pharmacy is highly dynamic and dispenses large volumes; this role would best suit a Pharmacist who enjoys a more fast-paced environment with abundant opportunities to learn and develop professionally. Your success will be rewarded with a performance-based bonus scheme, offering up to an additional 10% of your salary.
While a clinical or outpatient background will be an advantage, Community Pharmacists looking to pivot into a hospital environment will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
This is a permanent, full-time (40h) role for an Outpatient Pharmacist. Part-time may be considered for the right candidate.
Person specification:
(Essential)Active registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacist.
(Essential) Experience with high-volume, fast-paced dispensing environments.
(Essential) Ability to work effectively and use initiative both independently and as part of a team.
(Desirable) Professional experience within a hospital pharmacy environment (ward or dispensary).
Benefits/enhancements include:
Enhanced annual leave package
Performance-related bonus scheme (up to 10% of salary)
Staff discount scheme
Pension scheme
GPhC fees paid
Ongoing training and development including paid CPD days
