Job Title: CNC Miller Setter
Job Type: Days based, Perm
Location: Bristol
Hours: 6am-2pm Mon Thurs 6am-11am Fri // 2pm-10pm Mon-Thurs 11am-4pm Fri
Pay: £18 - £20ph DOE

As a CNC Setter, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process of components by operating and setting up Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. Your expertise in machine setup, and precision machining will ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet strict industry standards and specifications.
You will work closely with engineers, programmers, and other manufacturing personnel to optimize production processes and achieve efficient and accurate machining operations.

Machine Setup and Programming:

 •  Experience in setting up CNC machines, including installing workpieces, fixtures, and cutting tools.
 •  Ability to set Work Shifts including 4th Axis and Trunions.
 •  Ability to select and install appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for the machining process.
 •  Understanding of machine parameters, speeds, feeds, and optimization techniques for efficient production.

CNC Machining Skills:

 •  CNC Setters must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to monitor the machining process closely, making adjustments to tooling or machine settings as necessary to maintain precision and quality.
 •  In-depth knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines, specifically Heidenhain & Fanuc Controls.
 •  Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
 •  Strong understanding of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code) and the ability to modify programs as needed.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

 •  Capability to identify and resolve common CNC machine issues, such as tooling problems or programming errors.
 •  Proficiency in conducting routine machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal performance.
 •  Knowledge of machine calibration and alignment procedures to maintain accuracy and precision Including Kinematics
 •  To be confident in the recalibration of both Probes & OTS measuring Equipment

Quality Assurance:

 •  Attention to detail and ability to perform in-process inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
 •  Understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to verify part dimensions and surface finishes.
