Working in the world of care, we're dedicated to providing excellent support and exceptional care to our customers at Blueleaf. As a leading supplier of care products, consumables and furniture, we're looking to recruit a permanent, full time Buyer to join our efficient Procurement team in our Castleford location.

An understanding of commercial awareness, and a positive attitude will be required to ensure efficient sourcing and procuring all product categories for the business as well as maintaining strong mutual supplier relationships. Great organisational skills will be needed to ensure a strong focus on achieving cost savings and reductions.
The ideal candidate will have achieved a CIPS qualification and have a good knowledge of the supply chain along with experience in negotiation and supplier management.

This is a permanent full time role, working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, typical working hours are from 8am to 4:30pm. Immediate start is available.

Your day to day responsibilities:

 •  Live and promote Blueleaf's Values and embody our Culture.
 •  Understanding the target market and analysing market trends to enable informed buying.
 •  Provide support to senior buyers in supplier sourcing and onboarding process from tender through to supplier contract award, including pre-qualification, evaluation of 'best value', co-ordination of both commercial and qualitative assessments, credit checks, and the negotiation of prices and terms.
 •  Research and develop new product sourcing options as
 •  Supplier relationship management - Build and maintain long term relationships with exiting suppliers and manage and negotiate contract price reviews and terms and regular performance reviews.
 •  Manage suppliers to deliver the required standards and measure their performance against agreed objectives and SLAs, putting in place corrective actions where necessary.
 •  Maintain supplier compliance and non-conformance.
 •  Work cross-functionally with all departments, particularly supply planning colleagues, to achieve world class pricing, service levels and stock levels.
 •  Communicate regularly with management to keep them updated on supplier / product issues and shortages, price fluctuations, and deliveries.
 •  Maintain product specification records, including Safety Data Sheets / COSHH.
 •  Ensure processes are created and followed to achieve reliable and consistent results.

What will we offer?

We will offer a competitive salary between £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, 33 days holiday inclusive of bank and public holidays. You will be eligible for inclusion in a discretionary bonus scheme and a number of welfare benefits, such as auto-enrolment into our pension scheme, Death in Service benefit, access to our Medicash scheme that provides cash back towards everyday healthcare bills and a wide range of other wellbeing benefits including access to an Employee Assistance Program.
