The role - This is a fixed term contract until end of September and based on a 12 hour shift pattern.

As a Production Operator your prime responsibilities are to operate high speed production lines efficiently to maximise and improve line output, product and packaging yields, whilst achieving and maintaining production & product quality targets.
You will ensure that all KPI’s are achieved in line with the business unit plans and annual business requirements, working in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures ensuring all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to all times.

You'll be a team player with a pro-active attitude. Your continuous improvement ethic will ensure you strive to move our business forward. You will bring great communication skills, a motivational style to be able to deliver great results with your team and be flexible and adaptable.

As a Step-Up Team Leader, you will be responsible for running the shift, ensuring shift objectives in terms of safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery, and morale are met. As a Step-Up, you will be expected to lead any activities such as managing any Environmental, Health and safety issues, as well as Food safety or quality issues, Charing MOS meetings (DOR, SIC) within the plant.
Problem solving any issues in plant and working with operators and the reactive engineering teams to maximise the factories’ OEE.

You will also
 •  Complete designated production tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Undertaking cleaning and sanitation activities as per the Weetabix cleaning schedule.
 •  Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. Completing all required production documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth running of the production line.

Qualifications are not always the be-all and end-all and we really value your wealth of experience, however for some roles that are governed by legislation we will ask for specific qualifications and achievements.

Must haves
 •  Strong alignment to the Weetabix values.
 •  Always curious to find new and better ways of working.
 •  Working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
 •  Ability to follow rules and guidelines on working in manufacturing factories.
 •  Food safety and personal hygiene knowledge/understanding/compliance.
 •  Ability to consistently work to a high standard.
 •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well in a wide team.
 •  A positive can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
 •  Lead by example in terms of the ability to follow and adhere to strict health and safety, and Quality guidelines.

Nice to haves
 •  Previous Step-Up Team leader experience.
 •  Coaching and training fellow colleagues, experience of adapting to change of process or ways of working.
 •  Previous experience of working in a biscuit factory as a Packing operator would be preferable but not essential.
