This is an excellent opportunity for a Trust Doctor to join our ENT team at Peterborough City Hospital in a full-time permanent role. You may be required to travel to Hinchingbrooke Hospital to provide cover on an ad hoc basis.

Supported by the Senior Team formed of Consultants and Registrars, you will participate in ward rounds and assist with the duties assigned by the on-call team. You will attend to, review, and treat patients arriving via the Trust's Emergency Department.

You may be required to support the Senior On-Call members of the team in Theatre. When on-call outside of hours, you will provide ongoing support to the wards for any patients admitted under the team by ensuring all duties are completed and by facilitating any discharges.

Our department is primarily focused on teaching and training. You will have the opportunity to attend our initial induction course and our monthly speciality and interdisciplinary teaching programmes for medical staff.

The main responsibilities of the role include attending ward rounds and supporting with any jobs given on the round that require Senior SHO input.

You will attend the ENT Emergency Clinic to review and treat any patients as required who present through the Emergency Clinic and Emergency Department.

Senior support will be provided in the form of an On-Call Registrar. You may be required to support one of the Senior members of staff in the emergency or main theatres. When on call out of hours, you will need to provide on-going support to the ward for any patients admitted under the team by ensuring all jobs are completed and facilitating any discharges.

If you are scheduled for a Theatre/Clinic Shift, then you will attend either the Theatre or the Outpatients clinic to shadow one of the Senior Members of the team to support your learning and development.

Attendance to theatre lists or clinics outside of Otolaryngology can be arranged but, will need to be discussed with a Consultant and arranged by you with the other speciality.
