What's involved with this role:

Temporary Procurement Officer

Pay rate: £13.92 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 35-37 Monday to Friday, normal working hours

This opening assignment is for 2-3 months

A Procurement Officer is required to undertake various procurement tasks ensuring all relevant legal and constitutional requirements are complied with, in line with the Commissioning and Procurement Service Promise.

Experience:

Relevant experience in the procurement process.
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Knowledge of public service / local government procurement.
Knowledge and understanding of the procurement cycle, contract law, good procurement practices and relevant legislation.
An understanding of the role of the Local Government and the environment within which it operates.

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent influencing skills and an ability to work credibly with staff at all levels in all departments.
Strong interpersonal skills with good communication, networking and negotiating skills.
Good analytical skills, highly numerate with excellent writing abilities.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
