We are currently in search of an accomplished Transportation Operations Manager to join a prominent general haulage & 3PL operation. This role entails providing invaluable support to the existing transportation by having overall responsibility for the management and control of the transport operations.

As a Transportation Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management of the transportation process. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing a fleet of approximately 100+ Articulated Trucks, across general haulage and pallet network operations.

Requirements:

CPC Transport Management – National is essential
Proven experience in transport operations management, with a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams
A transport background in general haulage, pallet network and 3PL operations is highly desirable

Strong proficiency in data analysis, utilising statistics and KPIs to inform decision-making and drive performance improvements.
Experience in change management, with a track record of successfully implementing process improvements and driving organisational change.
In-depth knowledge of transport regulations, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in relevant software and technology platforms used in transport management.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of transport operations professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods, utilising data-driven insights to optimize routes, schedules, and resources.
Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), utilising statistical analysis and metrics to make informed decisions and drive operational improvements.
Drive the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Cost control and budget management

Build a stable workforce that is engaged and committed and in turn establish a culture of innovation and continuous improvement to deliver best in class operations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including fleet management, maintenance, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of operations.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process enhancement, and technology integration to stay at the forefront of the industry.
