THE OPPORTUNITY

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading UK automation solutions provider and systems integrator. Well-established and highly respected, they combine innovative technologies with extensive industry knowledge and experience to supply complex turnkey solutions to the UK’s main manufacturing industries.

JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the detailed electrical design of controls and drives systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 •  Electrical site surveys
 •  Calculations to support sizing and selection (Power, Short Circuit, Voltage Drop, Heat Dissipation, Etc)
 •  Equipment / component selection in line with client specification and internal preference
 •  Single line diagrams for power, control and networking / communications
 •  Control / Drive Panel general arrangements
 •  Electrical schematics and cable schedules
 •  Procurement of general components and materials
 •  Manufacturing handover, documentation and support
 •  As-built documentation from Testing and Commissioning
 •  Complying with all appropriate industry regulations, client specifications, and internal standards
 •  Meeting project milestones
 •  Contribution to the continuous improvement of the Hardware Design department
 •  Maintenance of the Technical Construction File

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
 •  Degree in Electrical Engineering
 •  Minimum 5 years in a similar role
 •  Experience using EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical
 •  Good understanding of control system electrical design
