Autism Support Worker

Weymouth | www.cv-library.co.uk |
Are you looking for a career change, a job that 'gives back', returning to the workplace, or at the start of your career in social care – if so, we would love to hear from you!

Autism Unlimited runs a dedicated adult services programme, and we are currently looking to recruit Support Workers for the individuals we support who live in Chickerell and Abbotsbury.

Due to the needs of these specific individuals, we can only consider applications from female candidates who have a Full Driving License and access to their own vehicle.

Your day as a Support Worker will involve assisting the people we support in various ways bespoke to their care plans. It could include helping the individual with food preparation, shopping, accessing the community, providing personal care, and administering medication.

Jane and Shelly live in their own homes and enjoy crafting, completing puzzles, walking, and cooking at home. They also have an interest in animals. If your interests align and you want a career empowering others, we want to hear from you!

This could be perfect if you want a role where every day is different, and you want to help your community. We provide a comprehensive training programme, so you don't need experience to join us; you need a willingness to learn and a commitment to creating unlimited possibilities for the people we support.

The shift pattern is 8 am – 3 pm and 3 pm -10 pm and includes working alternative weekends and 1 'sleep in' shift per week. We have full and part time shift patterns available.

In addition to the feel good factor, other reasons to join us include…

 •  "Refer a friend" scheme - earn £400 per person you successfully refer!
 •  Overtime paid at competitive rates
 •  Comprehensive training programme consisting of 12 weeks of in-house, on-site and online training, accompanied by shadowing, coaching and mentoring
 •  The opportunity to join our neurodiversity network led by colleagues to ensure the voice of neurodiverse people remains central to our thinking and decision-making
 •  Annual leave increases with each service year – up to 33 days!
 •  Exclusive access to our employee portal, home to discounts on days out and hundreds of high street and online stores.
 •  Health cashback plan to receive money back for dental, options and other treatments
 •  Salary sacrifice schemes for various electrical devices and bikes and many more
 •  A 24 Hour Employee Assistance Programme that provides practical information and support on issues like money management, family and legal information
 •  The opportunity to continue your professional development with accredited qualifications once you've passed your probation period
 •  We also have a network of Mental Health First Aiders to provide support to you in the event you experience issues relating to your mental health.

If you have any questions or want to discuss the role more, please call the Talent Team on (phone number removed).

Our commitment

We welcome applications from everyone and value diversity in our workforce. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this. We will provide candidates with disabilities with reasonable adjustments to participate in the job application or interview process.
As part of our commitment to providing reasonable adjustments, please let us know if you require support to complete your application.

Vacancies will be filled based on qualifications and best fit without reference to race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, marital status, veteran status, disability, age, religion or any other classification protected by law.
