Quality Assurance Technician

TM Scotland are excited to be recruiting on behalf of our brand new client who are a well-established beef supplier based in Ayr, producing both chilled and frozen products for retail, foodservices and business to business companies.

We are looking for an experienced quality assurance technician to add within our client’s technical department on an ongoing temp to perm basis in which you will be the first point of contact for the manufacturing team needing support with any quality related issues.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday (37.5hrs per week)

Earliest Start – 5am Latest Finishing time – 3.30pm

The hours of work may change from time to time in accordance with the needs of the business, therefore flexibility between the above times is required.

What will your duties and responsibilities be as a quality assurance technician?

Conducting hourly checks throughout production which includes but not limited to:

 •  Despatch and label checks
 •  Metal detection CCP checks
 •  Temperature and product quality checks
 •  Product quality checks
 •  Animal welfare and HACCP monitoring
 •  Log daily DNA samples
 •  Follow testing schedule to ensure all swabs and product samples are taken on time and sent to the lab
 •  Conduct start-up checks prior to production beginning
 •  Good Manufacturing Practice – checked daily
 •  Deal with Holds, Quarantine and non-conformances (paperwork, quarantine, release…)
 •  Conduct glass and Hard plastic audits on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

What do we require for our client?
 •  Previous experience working within a similar environment holding knowledge of HACCP
 •  Previous experience as an internal auditor, desirable but not essential
 •  Strong communication and listening skills
 •  The ability to work well individually and as part of a team
 •  You MUST have a valid UK Driving licence due to the location or local to the site
 •  A natural problem solver and driven by strict deadlines
 •  Excellent attention to detail
 •  A reference from a previous employer within the last 2 years
