GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a reputable engineering company based in the Tewkesbury area, specialising in aerospace and defence. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Quality Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent, basis.

They are currently going through a substantial period of growth and are looking to fill this position with immediate effect.

This position is working Monday – Thursday 07:30am – 16:00pm with a Friday finish of 13:00pm offering a salary up to £38K pending experience.

The Quality Engineer role is an essential part of the business’ continuous improvement initiative as a high calibre precision engineering company. The successful Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing and leading quality related improvement programmes and internal opportunities for improvement.
You will be actively involved in the NPI process ensuring all Quality requirements are understood and implemented, including generation of downstream QA documentation.

The role will also involve internal audits to ensure that the HPE management system is delivering expected results, and 3rd party supplier audits. You will be actively involved and working closely with Operations / Shop Floor, Customers and Suppliers to ensure non-conformances are investigated, remediated and effective corrective actions implemented.
Additionally, as a Quality Engineer you will be responsible to ensure that product quality requirements are not compromised through process change.

To be considered you must be a proven Quality Engineer with demonstrable experience within a production environment.

Quality Engineer main duties:

 •  Create QA documentation (FAIR, Quality Plans, Inspection Test Plans etc)
 •  Apply quality tools and techniques to effect robust non-conformance investigation and resolution. E.g.: MSA (R&R), SPC, RCA & CAPA, APQP, FAIR, PPAP
 •  Ability to read and interpret technical Engineering Drawings (GD&T)
 •  Ability to motivate and lead multi-disciplined teams across the entire business.

Quality Engineer required skills and experience:

 •  Working knowledge of Root Cause(s) Analysis techniques
 •  Ability to write problem definitions / statements clearly and succinctly.
 •  Working knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
 •  Ability to implement effective monitoring / metrics to support corrective actions.
 •  Working knowledge of machining processes, CNC & conventional, predominantly metal removal utilising lathes, milling, and drilling machines and / or a combination of the above.
 •  FAI as per AS910

We are seeking an individual with an HNC Mechanical/ Manufacturing or Production Engineering qualification, with External Auditor Training and Lean Six Sigma
