We are on the looking to recruit a confident, enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our wonderful team as a Dental Nurse Team Leader.

As a qualified Dental Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting the service ensuring that our service users’ needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care.

You will participate in administrative clinic duties as well as clinical duties within the department.

The post holder will be expected to assist the Oral & Maxillofacial clinicians with a wide of procedures including, but not exclusive to the removal of teeth and roots, surgical removal of wisdom teeth, surgical uncovering of impacted teeth and soft tissue surgery, oncology, facial deformity, and pain clinics.
Procedures may be carried out under local anesthetic, conscious sedation, and general anesthesia.

We undertake orthodontic treatments which come under IOTN 4 and 5, these may include a multidisciplinary team approach, you will work alongside a varied range of clinicians ranging from Trainee Orthodontic Therapist to Consultants

It is expected that the post holder will be able to give advice on standard and more specialist Oral & Maxillofacial treatments. You will also be responsible for coordinating patient follow up appointments after certain procedures.

Assists the dental practitioner with dental treatment; provides pre- and post-operative, dental hygiene advice to patients 2.

Prepares materials, instruments, equipment for dental practitioner

Provides day to day or clinical supervision to less experienced staff
 •  The post holder will work alongside the Dental Nurse Manager to provide support to Dental Nurses and ensure they acquire and maintain the skills relevant to their career development.
 •  You will undertake HR related duties including return to work interviews for your allocated team members
 •  You will be expected to establish strong links and effective working relations with the whole dental team.
 •  You will coordinate the running of clinics and be the first point of contact for Dental Nurse and reception staff for day-to-day issues.
 •  You will participate in the rostering of staff to ensure correct staffing levels and skill mix enabling the team to deliver a high standard of patient care

Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months.
