Experienced Purchasing Administrator/ Assistant required to work for a leading Engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Woking, We are looking for someone experienced to support the Purchasing Team Leader in the purchasing of all product components, complete assemblies and spare parts to enable the range of products to be manufactured and/or supplied to customers.

key points for the role:

Experience with ordering via a MRP software
Experience in manufacturing style business would be good

Good purchasing practice: Understands stock levels and demands

Understands re order levels etc
Ability to build relationships with suppliers
Ensuring we are getting best lead time and price
Liasing with production on stock levels and requirements
Managing suppliers and exploring new suppliers

Working directly for Production ManagerKey Tasks:

Assist the Production Manager with the overall planning and organising of the purchase of materials and outside sub-contract work.
To be responsible for the Life products, planning and organising of the purchase of materials, free issue of materials and liaison with suppliers.
Responsible for stock control, purchasing, demand planning, and distribution through MRP and ERP.
Define product and stock control including the control of inventory levels, stock checks, reorder quantities, product availability, waste and stock ageing.
Create Purchase Orders and reconcile with supplier invoices.
Processing supplier invoices and entering onto ERP system.
Resolution of supplier queries and any associated payment queries.
Create works orders with requirements for material purchases.
Communicate, negotiate and build relationships with suppliers.
Purchase at the best price available at the time and monitor fluctuations.
Identify alternative suppliers as required to improve the supply chain.
Follow up on delivery dates, communicating any delays or material shortages to the Production Manager.
Provide administrative support and coordinate annual appraisal of supplier performance.
Manage vendor appraisals.
Expedite all purchase orders and log delivery information.
Oversee stock levels and ensure accuracy of records in order to meet sales forecast and customer orders.
Attend ad-hoc meetings as required.

Liaising with external IT support on any issues relating to ERP and MRPYou will need the enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to join a small team in a dynamic working environment. The ideal candidate will have:

Excellent communication skills and ability to use IT systems (including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
Good telephone manner
Strong organisation and planning skills
