The person undertaking this role will be supported to develop and succeed in the role by the Strategic Head of Quality improvement, the Director of QI and Transformation and colleagues in the QI team.

In-line with our policies and our organisational People strategy, this role is being made available as a permanent full or less-than-full-time appointment; or as a secondment opportunity to enable the post-holder to access a valuable career development, and to develop new skills, gain experience and maximise their potential.

This is an exciting time to join the QI team in this leading position and your role will be vital into making us as successful as possible in the delivery of our programme.

This opportunity is for a senior practitioner role within the QI team. Some of the main responsibilities include:
 •  Support for the White, Yellow and Green Belt QI learning programmes that we conduct throughout the year.
 •  The support and facilitation of breakthrough objective projects, strategic initiatives and other mission-critical projects.
 •  Line management of members of QI practitioners in the team.
 •  Oversight and leadership for the delivery of the Quality Management Improvement System (QMIS) learning roadmap.
 •  Providing coaching on the application on lean improvement methodology to staff at all levels in the organisation

The post holder will play a key role in the delivery and embedding of a culture of continuous improvement within the Trust.

Working as a senior member of the QI Team, they will lead on the delivery and development of the key workstreams within the QI programme, including supporting quality improvement projects, facilitating implementation of QMIS and building QI capability.

A priority for the QI programme, is the support on the Breakthrough Objectives that the Trust has identified. This will include support and coaching of the operational leads in the use of improvement methodologies, tools and frameworks to ensure a measurable approach has been taken for the progress of the piece of work at hand.

The postholder will have a passion and drive for building the culture, conditions, and capability for continuous improvement.

The “must haves” for this role:
  1.  Extensive experience in Quality Improvement or Lean methodologies at a senior level (band 7 and above)
  2.  Extensive experience as a senior manager within the NHS (band 7 and above
  3.  ‘Yellow Belt’ practitioner in QI/Lean
