The role focuses on managing the aluminum stock control and optimizing its usage in the Casthouse. Scrap management is the system to serve as the tool for recording all transactions and reporting the department’s performance.

Responsibilities include maintaining ideal inventory levels, ensuring flawless aluminum supply, and instruct the shop floor for metal availability and proposed blending options. It is an instrumental role requiring strong collaboration with the operations teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

 •  Provides full support and continuous development of the scrap management system.
 •  Coordinates the SMS project team’s efforts to ensure progression.
 •  Liaises with the IT department to ensure reliability of software and hardware.
 •  Liaises with the Planning department to communicate and review the production schedule.
 •  Liaises with the Supply Chain department to perform metal stock control of the Casthouse area.
 •  Liaises with the Technology department to communicate instructions for trial plans.
 •  Provides instructions to the Casthouse operations team for the metal blending options.
 •  Supports the Casthouse team with reviewing and improving the management system.
 •  Reports the daily/monthly/annual KPI’s exported by the scrap management system.

Requirements:

 •  Be a keen communicator from shop floor to management onsite and to external contractors.
 •  IT literate with strong understanding of databases and MS Office skills.
 •  Ability to adapt to a manufacturing environment.
 •  Ability to effectively prioritises tasks to meet deadlines.
 •  Demonstrates a strong initiative in taking proactive steps to address challenges.
 •  Skilled in coordinating the project team and structuring their efforts to ensure timely delivery.
 •  Good multi-tasking skills.
 •  Experience in a challenging office/administrative setting is valued
 •  A strong foundation in mathematics and statistical analysis is considered a plus.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 36.25 hour week - Flexitime
Salary Range: £30,000 to £34,000 per annum
Reporting to: Casthouse Operations Manager
