About the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join the business as a Mechanical Design Engineer. As part of the engineering team, you will work on a variety of design projects including nuclear plants and associated equipment. You will be involved with the full circle of mechanical design and should be able to work independently.

Key responsibilities
• To produce robust and compliant design solutions from clients or project specifications and national standards.
• Be proficient in creating 3D CAD Models (inventor or Solidworks) and 2D manufacturing drawings (AutoCAD).
• To continuously search for, and capture knowledge relating to design activity and apply LFE to new designs.
• To produce and verify design calculations.
• To work with the Lead Engineers to check and approve designs to ensure the most appropriate and cost-effective solutions are selected to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Assist and being responsible to meet the project requirements and deadlines in line with the budget and quality targets.
What you need for the role.
• A degree level qualification in Engineering or similar
• Proficiency in tools: AutoCAD, Inventor, Microsoft Excel
• Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design (experience of pressure systems, vessels and pipework would be an advantage but not essential).
• An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems.
