As part of this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of specialities such as Emergency Medicine, Medicine, Specialist Medicine, Pathology and Cancer Care.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a large division to develop and shape governance, whilst also interlinking with the wider organisation.

UHS is rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and in the latest national NHS Staff Survey, we were in the top 10 acute trusts for staff engagement and for staff recommending the hospital as a place to work or receive care.

Specific to this role is the suitability for agile working which is a mixture of on-site and remote working

Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you need, and we will explore what’s possible for the role and service.

UHS employees are able to access a range of NHS discounts, are entitled to a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and we offer a generous pension scheme.

Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct trains to London. WHAT YOU’LL DO

As part of the governance team, the role will be integral to shaping the care our patients receive and ensuring that it is safe and effective. The role is fast paced, and tasks can vary day to day. These may include:

 •  Investigating incidents and complaints to identify what happened and what we can learn and
developing recommendations and action plans to address any issues identified.
 •  Undertaking risk assessments to identify what mitigations we can put into place to minimise
and prevent risks from materialising.
 •  Ensuring that we are compliant with trust and national policies, guidance and alerts, as well as
regulatory requirements such as those set out by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
 •  Supporting the division and directorates to undertake and learn from audits and outcomes.
