I am looking for a two experienced IRO’s to join a great team in Waltham Forest. One role is full-time and one role is part-time, working 18 hours per week. You will join a small team of Independent Reviewing Officers who are supportive of one another and who are committed to providing the best service for the children and families in Waltham Forest.
You will benefit from an extensive training offer, regular reflective supervision, and an annual retention bonus of £2000.
Duties for this role include:
• Management of the children looked after process and quality assurance of care planning and safeguarding of children and young people in care
• Effective implementation of the quality assurance role
• Providing professional leadership for staff within children's social care
• Communicating effectively an appropriately across the Council and with partner agencies
• Making positive contributions to the training, practice development and awareness of permanence and care planning issues
To be successful in this role you will need:
• Previous experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer
• Registration with Social Work England
• CQSW, DipSW, CSS (or equivalent)
• Accreditation as a social work practice educator or assessor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
