About us
My Life Legacy is a highly respected local charity. Our employees stay with us and many move up the career ladder. My Life Legacy was established in 2012 as a result of a group of people with disabilities and their families wanting something different to traditional types of health/social care services and wanting more choice and control over their own lives.
My Life currently provides care and support to a growing number of individuals who have complex health and social care needs across the Northwest of England and on our 84 acre Equestrian Centre/farm site in Standish.
Our staff are integral to the success of the charity as they are the ones making a real difference to people’s lives, in return we put significant investment in our employees.
Your Responsibilities
As a qualified dog groomer you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional pet grooming and doggy day care service for our clients, grooming pets to the highest standard. You will also be working with our members to ensure they gain the relevant outcomes from this amazing opportunity.
You will have excellent communication skills and you will ensure that the Day Care area has consistently high cleanliness standards is tidy, generally well presented and a safe place for both pets and staff alike. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to; -
• Ensuring pet safety and well-being at all times.
• Be able to manage several dogs at once.
• Dog Grooming, Prepping, Bathing, Drying, Trimming
• Dog walking / Doggy Day Care
• Assisting with the training and development of staff and our members
What you'll need to Succeed
You will be self-motivated, flexible and have the ability to use your own initiative whilst being caring and sensitive to the needs of others. Additionally, you will be: -
• Experienced working within a grooming environment, and ideally, you'll have experience in a similar, fast-paced environment where you've taken a hands-on approach
• Competent in completing a groom from start to finish on most breeds to a high standard (please note that grooming your own pet does not qualify as a professional experience)
• A dog grooming related qualification
• A great team player who has a real passion for pets
• Hungry to be part of a successful doggy day care, and you'll be proactive in your approach.
• Experienced in a customer-facing environment
• Experienced working in Health and/or Social Care supporting people of all ages and abilities
