Principal Filter Design Engineer
We are partnering with an industry leading Semiconductor components company. You will be based in their Design Centre in Irvine as a Principal Filter Design Engineer. Collaborate with a dynamic group of RF experts to pioneer technology for cutting-edge cellular handsets and wireless communication devices.
Your primary focus will be on designing acoustic filters, leveraging SAW and BAW technology, for RF front-end modules. Enjoy the vibrant lifestyle of Irvine, consistently recognised as one of the safest coastal cities in the nation. p>
Responsibilities as a Principal Filter Design Engineer:
• Design acoustic wave filters for integration into RF modules, adhering to tight schedules, top-notch performance standards, and cost-effective solutions. li>
• Implement best engineering practices to ensure reliability, sustainability, and high production yield. li>
• Innovate new architectures and concepts to enhance filter and module performance, maintaining a competitive edge. li>
• Conduct design reviews and present data demonstrating compliance with internal and customer specifications through simulation and measurement. li>
• Collaborate with module and systems teams to establish appropriate performance goals for filters. li>
• Interface with technology and fabrication teams to drive continuous performance enhancements and guide business unit roadmaps. li>
• Develop design methodologies to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and first-pass success. li>
• Lead module co-design efforts, collaborating with PA, LNA, switch, MCM, and other teams for comprehensive performance optimisation. li> ul>Qualifications as a Principal Filter Design Engineer:
• Extensive expertise in acoustic filter and multiplexer designs, proficient in various filter design facets. li>
• Thorough understanding of RF fundamentals including impedance matching, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth, and stability. li>
• Proficiency in PA/ LNA filter co-design and RF integration. li>
• Strong circuit simulation skills using Agilent ADS/ Cadence and 2.5/ 3D EM tools like Momentum or HFSS. li>
• Substantial experience in EM simulation of filters or multi-chip modules (MCM). li>
• Hands-on experience in problem-solving and lab debugging from prototype to mass production. li> ul>Preferred Qualifications as a Principal Filter Design Engineer:
• Proven track record in developing RF filters/ multiplexers for cellular applications. li>
• Deep comprehension of cellular RF systems. li>
