We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced school chef to support the catering team in planning, organising and preparing healthy balanced diet meals for all of the children aged between 3 months – 5 years old. This is a full-time permanent position with a trusted nursery who are able to offer the successful candidate a fantastic career opportunity.
The Organisation
We’ve partnered with a highly regarded and successful nursery based in London who provide early years education to boys and girls. The school have outstanding feedback from parents in addition to very good rating from their most recent quality inspection and aim to continue safeguarding young children and supporting the local community.
Job Responsibilities
• Ensure that all food hygiene procedures and kitchen duties follow the environmental health guidelines.
• Order required supplies keeping to the agreed budget for the school’s menu and taking in delivery of goods.
• Engaging with the children for cooking and food activities.
• To ensure all children with individual dietary requirements are catered for and their food is clearly labelled.
• Complete kitchen risk assessments and checks and the corresponding daily, weekly and monthly records.
Requirements
The successful School Chef will:
• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum)
• Have previous catering experience
• Have knowledge of health and safety issues
• Possess strong knowledge and experience of food preparation for special dietary needs and allergies
• Previous experience in a school or nursery is preferable but not essential
