Do you have Trauma and Orthopaedic experience? Are you enthusiastic and motivated? Are you passionate about wound management? Are you interested in working in an outpatients setting?

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Fracture Clinic team - working across all areas of the department - Trauma, Hand Trauma, Virtual Fracture Clinic and Elective orthopaedic outpatient services. Working closely with clinicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Caring for patients with a wide range of injuries and conditions, performing complex wound management, casting, splinting etc. and giving appropriate health education.

Current working hours are 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, with a late finish allocated on a rotation basis.

Please note this post is not suitable for applicants who are required to undertake the OSCE training programme. Applicants who do not have current valid UK NMC registration will not be considered for this post.

Work across all areas of the department performing wound management, casting (as training allows), application of splints and braces, participating in the Virtual Fracture Clinic - explaining diagnosis and treatment plans with patients via telephone.

Take on the role of 'Floor Control' - coordinating daily tasks, dealing with patient queries, daily staff allocations, coordinating ambulance patients and capacity issues to ensure the safe and effective running of the clinics.

 •  Effectively communicate treatment plans to patients via the Virtual Fracture Clinic – ensuring sound knowledge of trauma and orthopaedic injuries and conditions.
 •  Act as a skilled practitioner and role model: teaching, supervising and assessing students and junior staff
 •  Be responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented and evaluated, giving appropriate treatment information and involving patients and relatives etc in the planning of care. Acting as patient advocate when necessary.
