This is an exciting opportunity to work for a fast paced global media company and a highly agile Finance function. This Bath based role will closely support the US Commercial Sales Team.
What you'll be doing...
The role reports to the US Commercial Finance manager, within the Commercial Finance Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for key management account activities as well as additional commercial analysis as required, such as supporting the weekly trading reports and calculating sales commissions.
You will become a trusted resource supporting our understanding of US advertising sales performance
Key Responsibilities include:
• Being the US Sales team ‘go to’ person for financial support
• Attend weekly sales trading meetings and support variance analysis and commentary
• Support with the production of weekly sales reporting and commission calculations
• Support on production of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
• Month end management accounts activities including journal posting, transaction reviews and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
• Particular support at month end around campaign specific cost of sales- assisting with surfacing the true cost of our in month business
• Ad hoc analysis as required
Experience that'll put you ahead of the curve...
• Pursuing or interest in pursuing an accounting qualification ACA/CIMA/ACCA
• Management accounting experience would be preferential
• Ability to integrate data to ensure accuracy and provide insight to business partners
• Strong communication and people skills to build strong relationships across the business
• Bright, energetic and self-motivated with a proactive approach to work, and a focus on execution
• Desire to understand and challenge the ‘why’ when it comes to producing numbers
• Team player who is able to communicate and collaborate across Finance, business and operational teams
• Effective stakeholder and time management essential
• Possess a positive attitude to change, and a drive to challenge and improve processes
• An enquiring mind, and the ability to absorb and apply new information quickly
• Experience in using Excel or equivalent essential
