We are currently recruiting a skilled and experienced CAD Engineer for our large award-winning engineering client based in Wearside.
The candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining computer-aided design (CAD) models and drawings to support engineering projects and product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD software within the fabrication, construction or mild steel welding sectors, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Experience using AutoCAD, is essential. Experience of Solidworks and or Inventor is highly desirable.
Working with structural steel products ideally within the architectural / construction / fabrication sectors i.e. designing handrails, staircases, balconies, balustrades, fire escapes, steel frames or similar type products.
Create detailed 2 and 3D CAD models and drawings based on project requirements and engineering specifications.
Modify existing CAD designs to incorporate design changes, updates, or corrections as necessary.
Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to understand project objectives, requirements, and constraints. Extensive knowledge around the fabrication industry is essential.
Ensure that CAD designs comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct design reviews and provide feedback on CAD models and drawings to optimize functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
Assist in the development and implementation of CAD standards, procedures, and best practices.
Maintain organized CAD files and documentation to facilitate version control and project collaboration.
Be in involved in R&D projects.
Support cross-functional teams by providing CAD expertise and technical assistance as needed.
Stay current with advances in CAD technology, tools, and techniques to continuously improve design efficiency and quality
