Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per Annum
Working Hours: 42 hours average [12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off shift rotation]
Location: FCO Cheltenham, GL51 0EX

This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

We are looking for a General Operative to join our team based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Are you organised, proactive and resourceful with good communication and organisational skills? Then this is the role for you!

As General Operative you will operate to deliver planned and reactive maintenance as allocated by the supervisor or line manager and responding as necessary to all incidents as directed to minimise business disruption and operational down time.

Your responsibilities will include:

Overseeing on-site contractors as required.
Undertaking general planned and reactive maintenance duties to assist the shift team.
Carry out other tasks as and when required by management.
Responding to defects, faults and client requests.
Maintaining records and producing simple reports as required.
Identifying material requirements.
Developing and maintaining day to day contact with client representatives.
Adhering to corporate security policies.

This is a full time role working 42 hours per week, 12 hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off rotation basis

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Essential Criteria:

Handy person skills - DIY-based or semi-skilled.
English language skills.
General overview of plant and equipment.
Microsoft Office familiarity – limited to Word and Excel.
Basic Knowledge of IT including email and calendar.
Previous experience of general FM and/or maintenance works.
Ability to obtain DV clearance.
