We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative band 7 Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist with an interest in echocardiography. Location: Cover two community diagnostic centres in Ely and Wisbech for 3 months
Band: 7
Hours of work: 37.5
Start: ASAP - minimum for 3 months

Department: Cardiology - you may be required to work elsewhere within CUH facilities, determined by the needs of the organisation and the duties of the post, subject to reasonable notice.

Job summary:

You will be involved in all aspects of the non-invasive Cardiology Department. First and foremost is the ability to be part of a team. Ability possess the skills to perform and report transthoracic echocardiograms, physiologist led exercise treadmill tests, tests, 24 hour Holter monitors, 7 day cardiac monitors, 24 hour blood pressure monitors and 12 lead ECG’s.

Workshops and training sessions will be available for the successful candidate to maintain BSE accreditation.

The Non-Invasive Cardiology services at Addenbrooke’s include Transoesophageal Echocardiography, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography, CRT baseline and optimisation. The department also runs a physiologist led open access echo service. You will be exposed and trained in these areas in due course, as part of their personal development plan which is part of the appraisal system.

Essential Criteria:

 •  Degree in Cardiac Physiology (BSc) or Healthcare Science (BSc) specialism in Cardiology (PTP) or Master in Healthcare Science specialising in Cardiology (or equivalent experience/skills BTech, HTech Cardiac Physiology)
 •  Relevant experience in a wide range of non-invasive and invasive cardiology tests
 •  BSE Accreditation (or equivalent completed)
 •  Independent reporting to a high standard
 •  SCST/RCCP or HCPC registration
 •  SCST Part 1 and 2 professional qualifications (or equivalent)
 •  Extensive experience in transthoracic echocardiography
 •  Experience working in a healthcare environment, working alongside clinical and managerial staff.
 •  In depth knowledge of complex procedures in TTE.
 •  Ability to deal with problems in a calm and methodical manner.
 •  Well-developed interpersonal skills – ability to liaise effectively with and provide advice to a wide range of people including senior clinical staff and managers.
