The Company
Our client is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, maintenance and servicing of state-of-the-art rolling stock fleets and rail systems.
Job Description
You will be responsible for leading the investigation of maintenance, servicing and safety defects on a new fleet of vehicles. Designing innovative engineering solutions to ensure reliability targets are achieved. You will be responsible for implementing and improving maintenance strategies to ensure the vehicles are kept in passenger service in line with the service level agreements.
You will also be required to assist with the design and implementation of various fleet modifications.
Key accountabilities
• The mobilisation and delivery of operational engineering requirements within the depot
• Support with train delivery, testing and commissioning of the new fleet into service
• Assist with the development of the engineering function that will be required during the testing phase
• Deployment of initial and ongoing depot engineering processes and engineering change
• Supporting with the development of the SAP maintenance management system (MMS)
• Ensure all material usage is controlled and recorded in the MMS
• Working closely with the Reliability Analyst and Technicians to identify route cause of defects in a timely fashion
• Assist with the development of documented depot engineering procedures, as well as practices and policies.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills
• 5 + years working in a rolling stock maintenance environment working from an engineering perspective, covering maintenance process implementation, reliability engineering and management of maintenance management systems.
• HND Qualified Rolling Stock Engineer or equivalent and proven rolling stock experience
• Sound knowledge of rolling stock rules and regulations
• Previous experience from a product improvement background
• Highly experienced in Engineering Change Management
