Dutypoint produces, sells and distributes pump systems, primarily to the construction sector for the provision of solutions such as hot and cold water, water pressure booster sets, waste water management systems and fire safety sprinkler systems.

Role

The CAD Technician role focuses on compiling drawings and CAD models of standard and customer-specific designs of pump systems and a wide range of other CAD-related tasks.

This is a fulfilling and fast-paced role driven by serving the many and varied needs of our valued customers according to their requested timescales, but always with a strong focus on attention to detail and high quality drawing output. Other tasks would include new product development drawing work, continuous improvement projects, drawings for product approval applications, other technical drawings, and other projects that enhance the product range.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

 •  General Solidworks CAD tasks & projects. Maintaining standard parts library, adding new parts to library, modelling up new parts, creating/checking standard product GA drawings.
 •  Completing customer approval drawings for special projects: pre-sale generic layout drawings, post-sale approval drawings, detailed production drawings and BoM's, and as-built drawings as required.
 •  Engineering change request management
 •  Running mini engineering projects from start to finish.
 •  Supplier and cross-departmental liaison
 •  Preparing drawings and CAD output for project documentation, e.g. datasheets, selection guides, exploded drawings, O&M manuals etc.
 •  Creating other 3D CAD models & schematic drawings (P&IDs).

Hours of work: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (30 min lunch break). A degree of flexibility on working hours is possible for the right person.

Requirements
 •  Good knowledge of Solidworks CAD essential
 •  Sheet metal and general metal fabrication design and knowledge advantageous
 •  Experience with Product Life Management systems advantageous
 •  Mechanical pipework knowledge advantageous
 •  Basic knowledge of structures advantageous
 •  Electrical knowledge advantageous
 •  Good communication and team work skills
 •  Willing to learn new software and processes, and attend training where required.
 •  Experience with 2D AutoCAD schematic drawings (P&ID's) and Revit modelling advantageous.
