Overview – Kepak Group

Be it fresh meat crafted by our master butchers (such as McIntosh Donald and St. Merryn) or our famous brands (such as Rustler’s, Big Al’s and John Stone), we offer a total foodservice solution with the premium quality our customer's demand.

Kepak Mclntosh Donald are looking for Positive Release Operatives to join our team on part-time basis.

Working Pattern: 27.5h/week, Monday to Friday, 12pm-6pm.
Starting Pay Rate: £11.44/h

Role Purpose

Working as part of the positive release team, ensuring products are checked in accordance with client specifications.

Requirements
 •  Ability to identify individual vacuum-packed cuts of meat and placing them in to specified containers/boxes.
 •  Recognition of different cuts of meat that legally must be weighed and labelled correctly.
 •  Placing trays/boxes on correct pallets to customer specification.
 •  Ability to use forklift, pallet truck and pallet scale as required.
 •  Recognising and placing selected cuts of meat into correct customer specified bags.
 •  Remove out of specification product, and store as required.
 •  Straightening prepack bags that are already on production line.
 •  Placing bags properly on the Cryovac machine.
 •  Participate fully in Lean Manufacturing processes and embrace new methods of working.
 •  Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet daily targets.
 •  Ensure product is of the highest standard, reporting any issues to the Positive Release Supervisor immediately.
 •  Verify that all produced product is within the customer specifications/SOP’s, and within the limits and defined criteria set out in the relevant specifications, such as: weight, eye height, fat level , dimensions, marbling etc.
 •  Identify and work with production to correct defects in products.
 •  Inform and guide production operatives on food safety and customer specifications.
 •  Maintain accurate and legible documented records.
 •  Perform all prestart, hygiene and safety checks as instructed.
 •  Maintaining good understanding and knowledge of customer specifications.
 •  Complying with quality specifications.
 •  Complying with Company’s health and safety rules, including hygiene requirements.
 •  Report all breakages, damages or defaults of equipment immediately to Positive Release Supervisor, only using equipment when safe to do so.
 •  Reporting any accidents or near misses, assisting with investigations as instructed/necessary.
 •  Minimising and reporting of waste appropriately.
 •  Finishing products to the required specifications · Maintaining and securely storing tools and equipment
 •  Actively participate in all required company training.
 •  Any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder.
