Occupational Hygiene technician
This is a permanent role based in Sumerset
In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks to monitor and assess occupational hygiene factors, ranging from chemical to physical and biological agents. Responsibilities include conducting surveys, participating in investigations, and carrying out workplace inspections to promote a culture of health and safety.
Additionally, you will assist with training initiatives and contribute to the preparation of occupational hygiene performance reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct occupational hygiene monitoring and surveys for chemical, physical, and biological agents.
Participate in investigations and studies as directed by the occupational hygiene lead.
Perform regular workplace inspections to assess and reinforce occupational hygiene standards.
Assist in the development and delivery of training materials on occupational hygiene topics.
Contribute to the preparation and circulation of occupational hygiene performance reports.
Support the COSHH coordinator in managing chemical processes, including onboarding, transfers, and removals.
Generate reports on on-site chemicals, ensuring the chemical database is up-to-date.
Provide support to the site chemist with site-related chemical data and information.
Assist in conducting COSHH assessments to ensure compliance with regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science is essential- graduates are welcome to apply
Previous experience working in construction sites or facilities in any capacity is highly desired
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
