Property Litigation Paralegal

Newcastle upon Tyne | www.professionalsinlaw.com |
As a business we're growing, and our national Property Disputes practice are contributing to that through some exciting new client wins. We now have an opportunity for a Paralegal to join the team.

What will you be doing?

The team deals with technically complex high value real estate litigation as well as general commercial property management. We have an enviable client list, made up of landlords and tenants (with national portfolios), developers and investors, ranging from significant public sector bodies to FTSE 250 household names across a range of sectors including telecoms, retail, energy and central and local government and transport and infrastructure.

You'll play an important role assisting our lawyers in a wide range of contentious commercial property matters, including telecoms, landlord and tenant (e.g. 1954 Act renewals, dilapidations and break notices) and general property issues such as adverse possession, easements and title disputes.
You'll draft correspondence and court documents, assist with disclosure, conduct legal research and monitor key dates. Along with regular supervision and support, there will also be plenty of opportunity for regular client contact to enhance your communication and relationship building skills.
The team is extremely busy so you'll be able to get stuck into great quality client work immediately. You'll be supported by a tight knit, friendly team with a collegiate approach and a firm wide commitment to development.

So what are we looking for?

Due to the growth in our work, as well as the variety and complexity of what we do, this role ideally needs some previous property litigation paralegal experience, though we will consider anyone with previous experience in real estate or litigation .
You'll also be highly organised, efficient and able to prioritise effectively as we often work to tight and urgent court deadlines. In this client facing role, you'll also need to be able to build and maintain strong relationships.

To be successful in this role, you'll need as a minimum:

 •  Completed your law degree or other legal qualification and have previously worked as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or similar within litigation or real estate.
 •  Experience managing and prioritising your workload.
 •  Computer literacy, having had experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
