Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - DAYS 6-2 shift
We are working in partnership with a specialist materials manufacturer in the recruitment of an enthusiastic and ambitious days based Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support the drive for world class engineering performance at a fast-growing site in Wrexham.
This client achieved 25+% growth in the last few years and supply a wide range of safety critical materials into several industry sectors. Very well established with a low staff turnover, they offer excellent opportunity and budget for training and development, promoting internally whenever possible.
The Mechanical Engineer will be involved in the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems and components, conducting both reactive and preventative maintenance, and play a part in a robust TPM implementation. They’ll also be involved in supporting engineering projects and machinery refurbishments, working closely with specialist subcontractors as required.
With an in house toolroom, there will also be involvement in the fabrication, welding and machining of parts needed to support production and projects.
Key skills
• With a formal, recognised mechanical Engineering apprenticeship – either mechanical or multiskilled
• NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering
• Previous experience in a Mechanical Maintenance role, in an industrial setting, medium to heavy engineering environment
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Manual Machining and tooling experience – lathe and milling machines
• Knowledge of and interest in PM, TPM, predictive maintenance methodologies
• Competence in electrical engineering and 17th/18th Edition is advantageous, though support will be given to a Mechanical Engineer interested in multiskilling.
We seek an inquisitive and innovative mechanical engineer who remains keen to learn and develop their skill set, can bring enthusiasm to the team and enjoy supporting on a range of interesting and technically challenging projects.
