We are recruiting for an experienced Hygiene Manager to lead the Night Hygiene team at this fast-growing food manufacturer headquartered in Poole. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Hygiene Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the factory is thoroughly cleaned and that the highest standards of food safety are met.

The role:

Co-ordinate hygiene team activities, manage hygiene and maintain audit ready hygiene standards at all times.
Provide and manage the training and development of a team of hygiene operatives (circa 5) – developing them to reach their full potential.
Ensure all aspects of the hygiene service are completed and maintained to the required standard.
Maintain detailed cleaning instructions and schedules for every hygiene activity that meet the requirements of the BRC food safety standard.
Conduct COSHH assessments, risk assessments & document safe systems of work for all hygiene tasks.
Ensure tasks are conducted in accordance with all legislative, company and site health & safety policies, and ensure that all hazards, accidents / incidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner.
Plan the work of the on-site hygiene team to drive continual improvements in hygiene standards.
Develop and audit hygiene schedules and work instructions to ensure all regulatory inspections and certification audits are passed.
Manage and ensure the efficient cleaning of the factory to required standards.

What we are looking for:

Previous experience in a similar Hygiene Management role, gained with a food manufacturing environment.
Knowledge & Experience of Setting Up & Implementing Training & Development Plans, Cleaning & Instruction Process & Risk Assessments.
Experienced in Semi & Fully Automated CIP (Clean in Place) systems.
Knowledge & Experience in Setting Up & Running Production Lines.
Any relevant qualifications - such as HACCP Level 3, Level 4 Food Safety, Cleaning Level 3, Level 4 COSHH, IOSH, H&S Management – would be advantageous.
Counterbalance Forklift experience would also be beneficial.
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive starting salary in the region of £40-£45,000 (dependent on skills and experience) plus a wide range of further benefits and incentives. This is a fantastic time to join a leading business at a key point in their growth.
