Air Conditioning & Chiller Field Service Engineer
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40
Salary: Dependant on Experience
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne (20mile Radius)
About the job
My client is looking for an Air Conditioning & Chiller Field Service Engineer to join their team based in Newcastle. This is a field based role so the successful candidate must be able to commute to clients throughout the north and occasionally attend the offices in Newcastle.
You will be responsible for the maintenance, service and repair of and AC/VRV products and have a good understanding of BMS controls.
Main Responsibilities
• Service, maintenance and repair of chiller and AC products with minimum direct supervision and within a pre-set timescale
• To liaise with customers to ensure work is being carried out to their satisfaction and to identify future potential business
• To give detailed technical reports on work carried out, or further work necessary to restore plant to optimum operating efficiency; to correctly complete work reports/time sheets to enable invoices to be submitted with minimum delay; to maintain regular contact with service centre
• To carry out simple, on site, equipment installation to acceptable standards.
• On-site apprentice training
• To ensure that the Company’s technical and safety standards are maintained and to make recommendations for improvements
• To adhere to company policy of quality service standards
• To perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

• Proactive in your approach to work
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills
• Have a strong character to ensure timings and deadlines are controlled
Required Experience
• Minimum 1 year experience in similar role
• Recognised apprenticeship (with good mechanical & basic electrical competencies.)
• Advantage to have competency in safe handling of refrigerants, hydrocarbons and have good sound knowledge on controls and electrical fault finding
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
