Major Talent are recruiting an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer for a well-established food business in Blackpool, dedicated to delivering high-quality products to customers nationwide. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the plant's efficiency through planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance activities. If you're passionate about engineering and thrive in a dynamic production environment, we want to hear from you.

Schedule: 4 on/off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights)
Salary: £45,900 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

Efficient diagnosis and correction of electrical and mechanical faults site wide.
Installation and commissioning of all new and repaired machinery and equipment.
Assisting manufacturing with machinery adjustments, changeovers, and setup.
Implementing machine performance improvements to reduce downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Daily reporting of breakdowns vs. PPMs activities, prioritization of repair work, and planning and monitoring machine performance.
Collaborating with the Planning Department to negotiate machine availability.
Providing technical support for production when required.
Maintaining the highest standards in housekeeping and completing paperwork and works sign-off.
Supporting Capital Projects development and implementation.
Promoting and supporting the Continuous Improvement (CI) culture across engineering and production departments.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience:

Relevant engineering qualification.
Competency in all forms of isolation, electrical safety, and safe panel entry.
Experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) operations.
PC literate with proficiency in computer-based maintenance systems.
Flexibility and a strong commitment to health and safety.
Ability to strip machines fully and reassemble them, as well as complete machine size change procedures and adjustments.

Carrying out engineering activities to achieve PPM plans and completion rates.
Minimizing engineering downtime while maintaining GMP and safety standards.
Implementing and ensuring compliance with engineering processes.
Maintaining the highest engineering audit standards.
Ensuring engineering skills and knowledge are maintained at the highest level.

Health & Safety:

Setting and maintaining high standards of Health and Safety.
Complying fully with HSEQ Policy and associated documents.
Actively participating in HSEQ matters to ensure continuous improvement.
Taking reasonable care of oneself, others, and the environment.
Promptly reporting hazards, incidents, and unsafe behaviour.
