Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Children’s Social Worker to join a Local Authority’s children in care team in the Halton area. They are looking for someone to work 37 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:30 – this is on a block-booking basis.
The successful candidate must have prior experience of working with children aged 0-18 months.
Key Duties:
• Responsible for a caseload of more complex cases
• Providing casework supervision to other social workers in the team
• Participate in the planning/reviewing of cases
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with service users, their families and carers
• Maintain and update case notes and other records
• Write high quality reports as required and where required, give evidence in court in relation to care proceedings
• Provide advice and support and promote independence and early intervention
• Liaise with colleagues in the same or different departments to gather relevant information for assessment and care planning activities
• Work effectively on complex situations
Requirements:
• Social Work England registration
• Experience of working with children aged 0-18 months
• Knowledge of theory and practice of care assessment, planning and detailed understanding of relevant legislation
• Analytical, planning and communications skills
