Job Description
• Managing materials (stocks, quality, performance, legislation) to meet strict design requirements.
• Supporting, monitoring and improving associated manufacturing processes.
• Qualifying materials in accordance with recognised defence and internal standards.
• Investigating and resolving material and related manufacturing problems.
• Monitoring for material obsolescence and qualifying the replacements.
• Clearance of ingredients and finished materials for manufacturing.
• Technically supporting production on a day to day basis - compiling methods and documents to ensure compliance with configured standards.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Materials Engineer should have:
• A degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field
• A good understanding of materials and their properties
• Strong problem-solving skills
• The ability to work well in a team
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in using engineering software
